It's definitely been way too long since the last post. Lot's has happened in the Graham household (probably too much to even remember!) The month of October (okay really the end of September - wow it's been that long) started off with Keira and I getting to meet baby Kaitlin MacLeod - what a cutie pie, and what a great little baby! The room was packed with people who were eager to hold her, and she willingly went from one to the next. The following weekend was Thanksgiving, and what a wonderful, warm weekend it was! Nothing beats being able to canoe, kayak and swim (for those that are daring enough), and then walk up to the dining room to enjoy a Thankgiving meal that is completely cooked and cleaned up for you.
Just after Thanksgiving Josh got to go skating for the first time! I'm not sure who was more excited....Josh or Kevin. I also think that Kevin got really excited because it went really well (see video). Since then, we've gone a couple more times and Josh hasn't been as happy or eager on the ice. I think that Keira will also enjoy skating (once she's a little older of course :>). Watch the attached video of her playing with Dad and Josh in the living room.
Kevin and I then got to go another wedding (Jared and Kristin's). Although in order to attend that wedding we had to miss David and Laura's which took place on the same day :< Who would have figured! We both had a great time (I will admit that it's been so long since I've had a few drinks, that the next day was VERY hard).
Halloween was lots of fun this year, most likely because Josh got the concept of trick or treating. He had great time during the day with his friend Nicholas and then and at night going door to door with Dad and Keira. All he could talk about the next day was going out again....and also wondering where all the masks went (he's still looking for them).
November then started off with quite the scare. My cousin Andrew was in a very serious car accident (http://newsdurhamregion.com/news/Uxbridge/article/89179), and had to be airlifted to Sunnybrook. Thankfully he's now at home recovering.
Keira is now walking most of the time, and her word use is quite astounding. She's now starting to combine a couple of words together like "big bear" or "hi daddy". Her favourite words continue to be "mine", "bite" and "no" - which is still cute because it comes out so innocent sounding.
This fall has definitely brought about it's fair share of illnesses to this house. Shortly after Keira had Roseola, Josh got it, then a few weeks later both had pretty bad cases of croup, and then this week, we've had the Norwalk virus make an appearance. Let me tell you how hard it is to make little ones throw-up in a container of any sort....(15 month olds in particular would prefer to vomit on their bellies as it turns out ;)
Hope that you enjoy the pictures and video....Same as last time....click on the slide show below to see a larger version of the pictures and movie.....For all the grandparents (and who ever else) out there, if you want and actual copy of any of the photos in the slideshow, just email which ones and I'll send them out to you.
Just think it's only one month until Christmas!!

It's definitely been too long since my last post. It might have something to do with the fact that I've started working at both places of employment now, so there is definitely less free time. Both jobs are going well, and I must admit that it's nice to see the pay cheques start appearing again :>
Keira continues to be an adorable little girl :> We celebrated her first birthday on August 17th, and gave her her own chocolate cake to destroy. We were hoping that we could get identical pictures to Josh's first birthday cake (covered from head to toe in chocolate icing), but Keira decided that she was much too lady like for such shenanigans, and decided to eat her cake with a fork!! It's quite amazing that the same girl who loves to eat handfuls of sand/dirt/stones/bark, wouldn't indulge her parents for one quick photo....Oh well, we definitely got some cute shots anyway :> Keira now has 14 teeth (and I think that her final two canine teeth will appear within the next couple of weeks). Hopefully we'll now have a few months before her 2 year molars emerge. I'd have to double check, but I'm pretty sure that she's still a few weeks ahead of Josh in the teething race....and we thought that Josh was quick! Keira is now up to 20+words that she uses on a daily basis. Amongst her favourites is "mine". Ahh the joys of having a two year old brother! Keira also has dealt with her first illness more serious than the "sniffles". Late in August we dealt with Roseola (attached are a few pictures). Poor little monkey looked terrible, but she handled it like a trouper! And finally.....we have a walker! Keira took her first steps today (okay, she took one for dad yesterday - but she did five in a row this morning!!) Hopefully we'll get it on video soon.
Josh has also been a little trouper this month. We're just getting over a pretty severe case of the croup. For awhile there the pediatrician was trying to decide whether to hospitalize him or not. He's definitely on the mend now, although his cough is still pretty scary when he gets himself all worked up (or lays down at bedtime or naptime - poor little guy :<) Josh's new favourite sport is badminton. For a few days he wouldn't go anywhere without the racket and a birdie. He seems to have forgotten about it the last few days though, so we'll see what his new favourite thing to do - once he's back to his old self. He's still quite the devious little character. He definitely knows the difference between what's acceptable and what's not, because he continutes to keep an eye out for you when he knows he's doing something that he's not supposed to. His newest one (this week), is kicking Keira when he thinks that no one is watching :< I think that this might have something to do with the fact that Keira is receiving a lot of extra attention in the last little while due in part to the fact that she's been on the verge of taking a step for a little while. Josh has also been busy the last few weeks! At the end of August he went to the Ex with Nana and Papa Paddy. He also got to go to the "Blue and White" game (Leafs practice) with Papa Krotowski. He also has been a busy little beaver at Grandma and Papa Graham's house - helping his dad and uncles chop down the 25+ year old evergreens in the front yard!
Hope that you enjoy the photos (click on the slide show below to see a larger version of the pictures) and movie.....For all the grandparents (and who ever else) out there, if you want and actual copy of any of the photos in the slideshow, just email which ones and I'll send them out to you.

Keira talking today

Another month has gone by in a hurry. Although I guess summer months tend to fly by anyway.
Keira seems to be growing and developing in leaps and bounds! She has 5 new teeth this month (for those of you who are counting that's 8 teeth in 6 weeks!!!). She has one more that is about to make an appearance over the next couple of days, then we should be in for a little break. The good thing is that this next tooth is her first canine tooth (one of the pointy ones - for those who haven't dealt with teething babies), and it doesn't seem to bother her very much. It's great to see the "old" Keira back to her eating ways :> Keira has also started to talk. She now has 4 words that she uses frequently - Daddy(her favourite word by far), Mom, hi, and go. This was also the month that Keira decided that she just might be able to sleep through the night again. One night she even went 10.5 hours straight for us!!! Usually it's about 7 hours with her requiring some sort of intervention, but I'll take that over the every three hours that it seemed to be a few short weeks ago.
Josh has been Josh. He's still quite busy enjoying all the sports that he can (which now include Frisbee - see photos), and his ability to communicate continues to improve daily. One of his biggest intellectual accomplishments - which we find amusing - is his desire to try and be sneaky with us. We see this when he wants to eat his toothpaste (yes, I know it's weird, but he likes the taste of the kids stuff). He'll pull a stool up to the counter to reach the toothpaste (this happens on the days where we've forgotten to put it up on a higher shelf). Inevitably by this point, either Kev or myself have walked in (either because we've heard the stool being moved, or because we don't hear a thing, and when you don't hear a thing in a house with a 2 year old boy, you know that trouble is soon to follow...). When Josh notices that we're standing there (because he's constantly watching over his shoulder as he unscrews the lid), he tells us that we should leave him alone and go down stairs to talk with mom/dad (which ever parent is not in the room). What he doesn't know how to do yet, is how to tell a white lie, because if we ask him why, he doesn't hesitate to tell us that he wants to eat the toothpaste :>
As a family we just embarked on our first camping trip to Sandbanks. It was great fun although bedtimes were quite the struggle. Both kids loved playing in the sand, but the water was a little cool for them as they are spoiled and are used to the 90 degree pool at the Baba and Papa's (Kev's parents).
Enjoy the pictures and the video

It's definitely been awhile since the last update. Quite a bit has been going on, but for the most part, the reason for the lack of updates was because our computer crashed :<>
Probably the most important event of the month is that Kevin convocated! We are now officially in the midst of a Dr. (I've heard that he won't answer to anything but Dr. Graham now ;>).
It's also been a big month for me. I have found two new places of employment. One through Primacy medical (www.primacy.ca) which runs all the physicians offices in the Superstores. (Pretty soon all the Superstores will have their own dietitian who will provide one-on-one counselling, conduct supermarket tours, and will be available for answering questions for the public -ALL FOR FREE!! ). I start in my location in August. I think that it will be an interesting experience. My other place of employment (which I will start in September) is at a place called the Mom and Baby Depot. (www.momandbabydepot.ca). We're still ironing out exactly what I'll be doing, so stay tuned :>
Keira is becoming quite the little one. She's now able to show you "how big" she is, she's able to climb stairs (although someone always has to be close by, as sometimes she decides that she just wants to sit and take a rest half way up). Keira also went on an almost 70 hour nursing strike (I thought that we were done :<), but low and behold, two more teeth emerged, and we're back to normal. Josh as always continues to amaze us! His vocabulary is incredible (which is probably because all of his friends are about 6 months older than him), and his love of sports continues. He loves watching his dad and uncle Paul play baseball, and especially loves to bring his own bat, and hit to anyone who is willing to play with him. Enjoy the photos and the videos (sorry for the dark baseball one, as I was sitting in the shade). Have a great Canada Day!

What a wonderful few weeks we've had :> Now that the nice weather has arrived we've been busy going to the local parks, the Toronto Zoo or just playing outside enjoying the sun. Josh has become friends with a few of our neighbours (even though they are quite a bit older than he is), and they are astonished with his throwing arm :> Not sure if he'll ever tire of playing baseball, hockey or basketball. His latest antic is hitting the ball with the bat, dropping the bat and starting to run (we are pretty sure that he's pretending to run the bases).
Keira's has a busy month as well. She's much improved with her crawling, but will still combine it with rolling to get somewhere that she wants to be. She's also able to pull her self up on things now, and able to wave "hi" and "bye", although she doesn't seem to like to participate when she thinks that she's on display :>
Now that Kev is finished with his thesis, things are finally starting to get done around the house. For instance, Kevin was able to dismantle the toilet this weekend, to retrieve the soother that had been trapped for weeks (thanks to an adventurous two year old!)
Enjoy the pictures, and looking forward to seeing some of you over the long weekend (our 5th wedding anniversary :>).

So now we have a life again!!! Kevin successfully defended his thesis on Monday! Hooray! What a relief for all involved :> I'm sure that Kev would be the first to say that there is a huge weight lifted off of his shoulders. Although I'm not sure that he knows what to do with himself now. We actually sat down and watched TV together on Tuesday night for the first time in weeks. Imagine!
Keira's had an eventful month as well. Yesterday she started crawling!! It's commando style crawling, so we'll have to see if she sticks with this or progresses to the "normal" style of crawling, but regardless of the method, she's now moving forward! Yeah! We're also continuing to keep our fingers crossed as she's still our little eater. Everything except plain yogurt seem to pass inspection. Keira also went for her first swing recently (which she loved :>)
Josh has also been busy continuing with the sports theme from previous months. He's now a great basketball player (just ask his uncles and his"Baba" (his word for Grandma)), and he was recently introduced to tennis. Not sure if we'll ever find a sport that he doesn't enjoy. Josh has also found a playmate in a little guy named Nicholas. He's 2 as well, and the two of them are like peas in a pod. It's quite funny watching them play in the pool or at the zoo, or wherever we go together.
Enjoy the photos and the movie clips (recent pictures below, video to the left)!
Have a great few weeks now that spring has finally sprung!

Another busy month! Josh is now two!!!! I can't believe how fast time has flown. The year between a child's birth and when they turn one is incredible, but the next year is pretty amazing in itself. Josh went from being a baby to little boy in 12 short months. Josh was able to celebrate this momentous occasion with each grandparent, which meant that he got spoiled for three days in one short week. He's still singing "Happy happy...." which is his rendition of "Happy Birthday". Other than his birthday celebrations, Josh has been quite busy practicing every sport imaginable. He's getting quite the pitching arm, and getting pretty good at being a goalie and actually blocking shots (although Kev is quite adamant that he'll never be a goalie - due to the cost of equipment :>).
Keira is becoming quite the little eater (thankfully, as we couldn't have handled having another child eat the way that Josh continues to..). I have yet to find something that she won't take. Josh also enjoys helping to feed her and has introduced her to cheerios, turkey and juice when we weren't right by her side (she loved all three). Now we're just waiting for her to crawl. She's getting the hang of it (in the last few days she's starting to get her knees up), but I'm sure we still have a bit of time. Josh won't enjoy it when she starts to crawl though, as we'll have to gate the hallway by the kitchen, impeding on his bike pathway.
And the best news of all.....Kevin's thesis has been submitted!!!! The countdown is on for his defense (aka the day that our lives return to some semblance of normal).
Okay, the BEST news of all is that Josh and Keira have a new cousin!!! Chelsea Jean was born today weighing in at 5lb 7oz and a little over a month early. As of the last update mom (Megan Graham) and Chelsea are both doing well. We're anxiously awaiting photos :> Hint, hint ;>
I've posted some photos below, just click on the photo (I'm trying Picasa for now). There are a few from our recent zoo trips as well. We have a membership, so it's our favourite place to go.
Sorry no videos this time.
Talk to you soon,

It's been quite the busy few weeks, hence the lack of updates.
My grandmother passed away on February 13th, after falling and breaking her hip. Her passing wasn't completely unexpected, but death is never something that's easy to deal with. On the bright side, there were a few children present at the funeral (including Josh and Keira) who made the day a little easier by reminding everyone about the circle of life.
Closer to home, Kev is getting closer to submitting his thesis. We're all counting down the days until we can have our evenings and weekends back!
Josh and Keira have both had a big month.....
Josh's vocabulary has just taken off! He's a great mimic, so you have to be very careful about what you say around him. His new favourite word is "Josh", so if there is something that he wants to do himself it's his way of letting us know. I must admit, hearing "Josh" is about a million time better than hearing "mine" although I'm sure that that day will come soon. Josh is also getting increasingly better at putting his own clothes on, especially his pants (usually backwards), and his boots. The world just about ends if Mom tries to help him with these items! Yes that's right, the terrible twos are in full swing!
Keira has now learned to sit on her own. She's not quite ready for me to leave her side while she's practicing, but she's getting better every day. We've also started cereal and veggies. She wasn't too fond of the cereal to begin with, but she's recently decided that it's much better tasting than carrots, so now she'll gobble up the full bowl of cereal whenever it's offered. Too bad it hasn't helped her sleep through the night.......Keira's second tooth did emerge just after the last entry, and she's starting to act like another might be on it's way (although we can't see where).
Enjoy the pictures and the videos (the links are now on the left hand side of the page).

Hi everyone,
The big news from that past few weeks is that Keira has her first tooth! The second one is actually just ready to break through the gums, so 24 hours from now, the little angel will have matching chicklets! The poor princess is feeling much better since the first tooth has come in, so we're starting to get a few more hours of consecutive sleep at night! Yeah for Keira!
Keira continues to grow like a weed, and new rolls are emerging all the time. It's very cute to see her wrists and ankles all but disappear :>
Joshua has become a jumping machine! Ever since he gained the ability to jump off of the ground; jumping in circles, jumping on the bed, or jumping into the pool have become all-time favourite activities.
Speaking of the pool, Josh can now get himself to the water surface after jumping in deep water. He's usually able to get his eyes out, but he doesn't quite have the strength to get his mouth out of the water in order to take a breath. So, as much as he thinks he can swim by himself, it looks like we'll be needed at least for a little longer :>
Hope that you all have a great few weeks.....

Hi Everyone,
Hope that you had happy and restful holiday season.
Not really much to say except that both children were spoiled rotten by Santa and their grandparents over Christmas. They now have lots of toys to play with, and clothes to wear in the coming months.
Keira's main goal over the past three weeks has been to drive her parents crazy :> The perpetual teether has also become the "little one who thinks it's fun to wake up every two hours over night" (just so she gets to spend time without the monster around -aka Joshua -).
Josh has had a very busy month. He can now catch balls when they are thrown to him, and he loves to sink baskets into his basketball net. (Our little sports junkie :>)
Josh also experienced his first trip to the ER over the holidays. While at a family get together, he fell and cut his eyelid. It's healing quite well, but gave everyone quite the scare initially.
The only other news is that Kev has started his Post Doctoral position at Sick Kids.
Only ~1199 days until the commuting is over!!
I've attached links for some new photos, and some video. Enjoy!
Talk to everyone soon,
xoxo
